A leading North American irrigation product company wanted to do benchmark the performance of their existing lawn sprinkler systems and develop a new family of lawn sprinkler systems based on the benchmark results.
Axiom was contracted to develop a test methodology for benchmarking, test setup development and data capture. This was followed by data synthesis and design specifications definition for the new series of sprinkler systems. Using these specifications new sprinkler series was designed and developed in a 3D CAD system. The sprinkler design was followed by tool development for injection molding of the sprinklers. The sprinkler system new design was tested using the same test procedures and the performance was optimized to exceed the performance of the benchmarked sprinkler.
