A North American health care major wanted to develop a software program to enable the design and engineering teams to shrink the cycle times by automating several of their engineering processes.
The objective of this program was to automate the mathematical post processing of CFD results and enable faster design decision process for female and elder care products. The engagement started with understanding the requirements of the design and engineering team. This was followed by software design and development. The software was developed around open source graphics engine Visual Toolkit(VTk) followed by rigorous testing.
The program had several features which were challenges for algorithm development such as mapping 3D CFD results on to derived 2D plane, extracting nodal data on the projected 2D plane, fitting the extracted data into stochastic models performing and contour plotting of stochastic results. The stochastic results were used to predict the absorption capability of the products and predict the performance under various use conditions.
