Solar Concentrator An Solar energy startup from Asia contracted Axiom to develop modular Solar concentration system to deliver high energy density solar power on roof tops.

Well designed solar concentrators can deliver enhanced insolation to the tune of 100x. These concentrators are widely used in industrial heating applications. The concentrated solar technology has better thermal efficiencies and are generally used for steam generation, oil heating etc., For optimum performance the concentrators have to track the sun precisely. The tracking system is generally complex to implement and maintain

Scope of engagement for Axiom was to design and develop a modular easy to install and use Solar concentrator for home and small industries application. The design is made modular which allows expansion to meet the needs of larger installations.

  • Concept Design for modular solar concentrator with sun tracking options
  • Developed CFD and thermal models to determine temperature levels inside the unit which led to faster turnarounds design changes
  • Built proof of concept prototype to optimize procedures for sun tracking
